Pysanky – Easter Egg Workshop
Dear All,
Easter is coming! Here, in the US, people start buying chocolate bunnies and egg-shaped candy. Do you remember Easter Egg Hunts from your long-forgotten childhood? These colored plastic eggs?
In Russia and Ukraine, painted eggs are also part of Easter tradition. No bunnies, no Easter Egg hunts, but painted eggs are a very important part of Easter, and people start painting eggs several weeks ahead. The art of painting eggs is also honed to perfection – see the attached pictures.
If you want to learn how to make painted eggs like these, come to our Easter Eggs Workshop – Thursday, March 26, 2015 in ICC 450 @ 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
Make your own pysanky – Ukrainian eggs. Participate in the tradition that is going on for centuries, learn a beautiful craft and take with you an egg you painted!
The workshop is free and open for all, though space is limited.
See you all there!
