Celebration of Women’s History Month
Please join us to celebrate centuries of women’s writing and linguistic and cultural diversity at Georgetown! Great Women Writers – an evening of bilingual lightning readings of women’s writing from across the FLL departments and programs at Georgetown. On Thurs, March 31, 6-8pm in the White-Gravenor Esplanade Tent.* Short texts written by women writers from across three centuries will be read by Georgetown students and faculty. Philosophical fragments, poetry, and prose will be read in the English translation and the following original languages: French, German, Italian, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian. Audience-choice awards and a modest reception will follow. * In case of extreme weather, the event will move indoors to ICC 450.
The event is sponsored by the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, the Slavic Department, and the Women’s and Gender Studies Program at Georgetown.
