Opening of the Exhibition: Anders Army – Trail of Hope

On November 9, 2017, Professor Sadowska delivered opening remarks to launch the Trail of Hope Exhibition which pays tribute to General Anders and all the women and men who traversed over 8,000 miles from Soviet gulags through Iraqi deserts to Italy, in over a thousand days, from 1941-1945. 2017 marks the 73rd anniversary of General Anders’s army’s victory at Monte Cassino. During the opening of the exhibition, Georgetown students heard from Senator Anna Maria Anders, the daughter of General Władysław Anders, and Professor Piotr Wilczek, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland.
