Our Students’ Success in Poetry Contest

On Friday, May 21, 2021 four Georgetown University students participated in a Russian
poetry contest entitled “Love Will Save the World” sponsored by Grodno State
University (Belarus). Nina Armstrong, Ben Clingenpeel, Miriam Friedman and Alek
Gozman each chose a Russian poem and made a video to accompany their
reading of it. As a result, Nina received an award for the creative talent she displayed while
reading the poem “Friend” by Tsvetaeva, Ben was awarded a prize for his precise
expression of emotions in his rendering of Pushkin’s “Winter Morning” and
Miriam was the recipient of an award for her talented improvisation of
“Confusion” by Akhmatova. Congratulations to our students!!
